About the role
We are excited to announce our various partnerships across the South Australia transmission and renewables sector to design, construct, and commission several grid connection and renewables substations.
Reporting to the Enerven National Commissioning Manager, the Project Commissioning Lead will be accountable for site-based commissioning delivery for Enerven’s Transmission, Substation and Renewable energy program of works across SA, ensuring testing and commissioning on projects are resourced and delivered according to project scope and schedule.
Day to day you will:
- Lead and manage the onsite commissioning of primary plant, secondary protection, control, and communication systems, ensuring correct installation and testing according to contract specification.
- Assist in developing and implementing the commissioning procedures, managing the project commissioning plans, and delivering the commissioning documentation.
- Assist with implementation and monitoring on site of Enerven’s Permit to Work (LOTO) and Isolation and Safe Access to HV Equipment Procedures.
- Compile and implement Energisation Sequence Plan’s to ensure substation energisation activity is carried out in a safe, controlled manner.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert input for all related business functions including bids, defects, and design considerations.
- Execute the project commissioning function through all stages from OEM FAT, internal FAT, pre-commissioning and energisation and final commissioning.
- Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure client satisfaction with regard to testing and commissioning.
- Create/review technical documentation, such as test plans, test specifications, procedures, and test reports (ITP’s, ITC’s, CMP’s etc.).
- Resource testing and commissioning work utilising internal and external personnel and test equipment ensuring efficiency use of budgeted hours.
- Manage defects and issues raised during the testing phase and work in collaboration with the relevant project experts and contractors in the analysis and resolution.
- Report progress against schedule, highlighting key issues and risks.
- Work with the Enerven Commissioning Manager to expand the project commissioning function, mentor other team members and ensuring that all testing and commissioning work is carried out in line with business risk expectations.
This role will be largely site based and will be required to travel to various sites across South Australia and will support interstate work as required. Site requirements will attract overtime and living away from home benefits. A work vehicle will be provided.
You will bring:
- You will be a self-starter with a positive attitude able to productively resolve challenges.
- Ability to communicate across disciplines including senior management, clients, Engineers, site construction teams
- Previous experience in testing and commissioning lead roles for greenfield/brownfield electrical transmission and distribution substations.
- Tertiary Qualifications in an Electrical trade or Electrical Engineering.
- Sound understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, transmission lines, bus bars, transformer protection fundamentals, schemes, and experience in generation, renewables (especially BESS).
- Experience in testing and commissioning of primary and secondary electrical equipment and protection systems, including SCADA and communications in High Voltage Substations.
- Proficiency with primary and secondary system testing utilising discrete and integrated test equipment such as Omicron, Doble, Megger.
- Local Australian Utility experience and training will be highly regarded.
