About the role

Our Metering Services team are seeking a motivated Works Scheduler to join their team on a 12-month contract. We are looking for someone with an engaging, friendly personality, a problem solver who has a ‘can do’ attitude. 

The Work Scheduler is responsible for the provision of meter installation and maintenance scheduling services within the Metering Services Team in accordance with internal guidelines, procedures, and customer scheduling requirements.

The Work Scheduler works with the Operations Supervisors, Metering Services Manager and Scheduling Team to develop and maintain appropriate resource and work schedules. The role also includes support activities related to the setup and maintenance of job and task information within relevant systems.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop and maintain work schedules using internal and customer scheduling systems
  • Build and review schedules to ensure internal compliance with safety requirements, priorities, staff & skill availability, travel time etc, all aligned to business and customer objectives
  • Reallocate resources and/or reschedule work as required to address any unplanned events
  • Ensure tasks are scheduled in accordance with customer requirements and KPI’s, industry regulations and if discrepancies are evident, escalate through the appropriate channels
  • Review and adjust schedule to optimise resource utilisation
  • Provide detailed reports to key stakeholders as required


Specific qualifications and experience required include:

  • Previous experience in scheduling a field-based workforce is ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of the contestable metering market is ideal but not essential,
  • Out of hours work may be required
  • Travel intrastate or interstate may be required
