About the role

Our South Australian Delivery team is responsible for delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects that support the reliability, resilience and growth of SA's energy network.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our site-based Delivery team. Reporting to the Engineering Delivery Manager, you will take ownership of allocated project work packages from planning through to practical completion and handover, providing the technical leadership and engineering capability required to deliver safely, on schedule, within budget and to a high standard.

Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and other key stakeholders, you will play a key role in coordinating delivery, resolving complex engineering issues and driving successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading short and medium-term project planning, including look-ahead planning, work sequencing and resource coordination
• Coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities across allocated work packages
• Providing technical leadership across design coordination, technical interfaces, RFIs, engineering methodologies and constructability reviews
• Contributing to construction methodologies and work packs, identifying and resolving engineering and delivery risks
• Managing costs, productivity, quantities, variations and other commercial matters across allocated work packages
• Managing project risks, constraints and opportunities and implementing effective mitigation strategies
• Overseeing quality assurance requirements, including inspections, testing, commissioning and project documentation
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, contractual and client requirements
• Coordinating testing, commissioning, practical completion and handover activities
• Building effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers and representing Enerven in technical and delivery discussions
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects right across SA, including substations, cable systems, HV/MV/LV installations and renewable energy projects.

Rosters will vary depending on project requirements, with a typical roster of 10 days on / 4 days off, 11-hour days, plus overtime and travel allowances. As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will be required to be on-site to effectively lead delivery, so you must be comfortable with working away from home.


About you

You're an experienced and proactive electrical engineering professional who thrives in complex, site-based project environments. You bring strong technical capability, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills, together with the leadership and judgement required to work autonomously and drive successful delivery outcomes.

You will also bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
• Extensive experience in electrical engineering and project delivery, with demonstrated experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure, utility, industrial or construction projects
• Demonstrated experience taking ownership of significant work packages and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, construction practices, engineering processes and constructability
• Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractor and supplier activities across multiple work fronts
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing costs, quantities, variations, productivity and project risks
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex technical and delivery issues and make sound decisions in a site-based environment
• Experience mentoring and supporting Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams
• A commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and delivery excellence
• Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia and/or working towards Chartered status
