Enerven is excited to announce that we have been appointed by Origin to construct the Eraring battery in NSW. This nationally significant project is a grid-connected Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) set to be among the largest in Australia. Enerven are proud to work alongside Origin and Wärtsilä to deliver this exciting project and further bolster our activity in reshaping the NSW energy market.

Enerven specialises in the design, construction and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, with specific expertise and experience in transmission, distribution and renewable energy markets. Our most significant project will commence in September and is of major strategic importance to Enerven as it enables us to continue to unlock the national renewables market with the design and installation of one of the largest Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Australia. 

Enerven is now seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong engineering background to support the delivery of the design and installation of this BESS at Eraring Power Station in Newcastle. This role will be pivotal in implementing and managing Enerven’s safety first ethos to ensure all our people work safe, home safe, everyday.

The Role: 

Based at the Eraring Power Station in Dora Creek, NSW, Enerven is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Renewables Engineering Team, primarily for design activities; produce designs, technical specifications, engineering assessments, technical analysis and construction support to meet national and client specifications and standards.

 

The Electrical Engineer will:

  • Provide construction support to the site management and quality teams.
  • Develop and ensure that all designs conform to sound engineering principles based on current best practice, Australian and Enerven Standards.
  • Both undertake and peer review design calculations and documentation for projects including the provision of expertise in the areas of arc flash, earthing, LV systems, DC systems, lightning design, lightning design, cable design, insulation coordination and other electrical engineering tasks.
  • Undertake scope definition, prepare contractors scope documents and participate in tender reviews.
  • Develop technical scopes of work for plant and equipment related to renewables and substation projects, including but not limited switchgear, transformers, and buildings.
  • Provide mentoring and professional development to design and engineering team to increase knowledge and skills of all team members.

 

What you will need:

  • Degree in Electrical/ Electronic / Mechatronic that will allow admission as Corporate Member of Institute of Engineers, Australia.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer as defined for registration on NPER register or able to obtain it.
  • Current NSW Driver’s license.
