The Role: 

Multiple permanent roles available!

The Transmission Powerline Workers are accountable under the leadership and direction of their Team Leader or Supervisor to carry out the duties associated with the construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of overhead transmission systems.

The Transmission Powerline Workers are accountable to operate safely and effectively within a team working environment. 

As a Powerline Worker in our Transmission team, you will be involved in: 

  • Maintaining and constructing Overhead Transmission assets
  • Project work – Including conductor replacement and removals, insulator and hardware replacement, tower and pole repairs and upgrades, new line builds, stringing new lines, new pole and tower installation etc.

Requirements:

  • Trade Skilled Worker (transmission) Certificate
  • Certificate III in ESI – Transmission 
  • SA Electrical License (highly regarded)
  • Current SA driver’s licence - car and/or heavy vehicle
  • Basic computer skills
  • Work overtime as required
  • Undertake training courses as required
  • Work away from normal work location as required both intra & interstate
  • May be rostered on country fortnight type roster to assist with larger packages of work

Desirable

  • Working safely using Live Line techniques and methods (Live Stick and Barehand National qual’s or be prepared to work towards)
  • High Voltage Switching Operator Accreditation (Cat 20 & Cat 2).
