The Role:

We are seeking a skilled WHS Systems and Governance Specialist to join our team at Enerven, based at Station Place in Hindmarsh. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing our Work Health and Safety Management System to ensure it meets legislative, SA Power Networks and customer requirements. The key focus for this role will include prioritising the development of standards, policies and procedures, driving their implementation and working closely with project managers to ensure compliance across our business.

The WHS Systems and Governance Specialist will also play a key role in overseeing governance and assurance processes, by coordinating the WHS audit program of our systems and their implementation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive WHS Management System, prioritising the development of standards, policies and procedures.
  • Drive the implementation of WHS Management System across projects, working closely with project managers.
  • Oversee governance by planning and executing assurance processes and auditing at a high systems level.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for safety IT systems
  • Liaise with the SA Power Networks team to ensure seamless integration and management of WHS systems.
  • Manage document control and set up the document library in coordination with the quality team.

 

About you:

To excel in this role, you will need a strong background in WHS management and the development and implementation of WHS systems, particularly in high-risk environments such as construction or utilities. You will bring a combination of technical WHS knowledge, experience with WHS IT systems and the ability to influence and guide business leaders. Your expertise in ISO 45001 and experience with incident management and contractor management systems will be crucial in driving the effectiveness of our WHS Management System.

Essential criteria:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining WHS management systems in high-risk environments.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, quality management systems and audit tools.
  • Competence in using WHS IT systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Current SA Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
