In collaboration with Amp Energy, Enerven is excited to announce our involvement in the design and construction of the Bungama Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project. The Bungama BESS Project further highlights our dedication to advancing energy innovation and promoting sustainable solutions.

The initial stage of the project incorporates a 150 MW/300MWh BESS facility, a 275/33kV substation, and a 275kV Harmonic filter and shunt reactor, so HV and switching would be desirable.

The Role: 

We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to work on the Bungama project.


Accountable to the Project Manager, the Electrical Project Engineer will support the delivery of the design and installation of the BESS and Substation, and will be pivotal in implementing and managing Enerven’s safety first ethos to ensure all our people work safe, home safe, everyday.

Day to day you will:

  • Assist Project Manager with upstream and downstream claims.
  • Assist with accurate project schedule update whilst seeking ongoing optimisation and efficiency.
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Providing engineering support on site.
  • Interpret designs for implementation on project.
  • Liaising with Enerven Design Team and Consulting Firms on any identified design issues/latent conditions/design changes required in accordance with the Enerven procedure.
  • Client interface.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans / Checklists applicable to the project scope.
  • Ensure accurate As-Builts.

What you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in mid to large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Sound knowledge of Quality procedures, WHS, Environmental and HR/IR procedures
  • Strong understanding of head and subcontract agreements 
  • Strong financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets while maintaining project objectives.
  • Forecasting/managing budgets.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with other employees, clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
  • A methodical and hands-on approach to work
  • Current SA Driver’s license.
