The Role

Our Distribution Services team is responsible for maintaining and constructing SA Power Networks distribution assets – both overhead and underground on Low Voltage, 11KV and 33KV lines (poles, wires, Transformers, High Voltage switches etc.). This includes live low voltage maintenance and construction, high voltage switching and live line tree trimming, as well as project work such as conductor replacement, new line builds, new TFs etc.

Due to the ongoing growth of our Distribution Services team, we have a permanent Powerline Crew Leader position available in South Australia.

Day to day you will:  

  • Lead the way on safety, calling out unsafe behaviours and demonstrating safe work practices at all times
  • Maintain own truck and equipment
  • Ensure all completed works carried out are to SA Power Networks standards and E-drawings
  • Advise Team Leaders of work in jeopardy or not completed in a timely manner so intervention may occur if possible
  • Ensure all correct compliance documentation from each job is captured and documented and returned to the team leader
  • Ensure material bays are completely empty before leaving for the job site or make the storeman aware
  • Monitor and mentor team members & Apprentices
  • Give feedback to team leaders regarding works issued e.g. What went well and why, what could be better and how
  • Ensure accurate and complete Toughbook recording for job sign off and timesheet entries

Essential requirements include: 

  • Distribution (Powerline) Trade Certificate & the ability to apply for and hold an SA Electrical Workers Registration
  • A minimum of 18mths trade qualified work experience
  • HV/LV switching experience
  • Current drivers’ licence – HR (beneficial)
  • Exposure to leadership responsibilities (beneficial)

The successful candidate may be required to work overtime as required, perform availability duties, and work away as required both intra and interstate.
