About the role
Enerven is seeking a highly skilled WHS professional to join our dynamic team. As a WHS Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders across our NSW projects and operations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement, and manage workplace health and safety programs in compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of WHS professionals supporting Enerven’s NSW projects
- Lead or facilitate comprehensive construction risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement across our current and emerging projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver safety programs, workshops, and initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety policies, procedures, and controls, and recommend enhancements as necessary.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and coaching to management, supervisors and employees on safety-related matters.
- Conduct audits and assessments of contractor safety management systems to ensure compliance with Enerven standards.
This role can be based at either our Morisset or Sydney offices, with and expectation to travel to our project sites on a regular basis. A company vehicle will be provided.
About you
You will be a dynamic, engaging, hands on safety leader with an excellent understanding of construction safety management and building and maintaining customer relations
Specific qualifications and experience required include:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role within the electrical, construction or high risk industries.
- Diploma or equivalent in Work, Health and Safety
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices, preferably within the energy and infrastructure industry.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams at all levels.
- Qualifications and experience in root cause analysis investigations
- Experience in managing a team
- Experience in the energy and infrastructure industry is preferred, but candidates from other industries with relevant transferable skills will also be considered.
