About the role 

Enerven have secured several large Telecommunications projects and are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Field Officer to join the team.  

As a Field Officer you will be responsible for the construction, interrogation, control, management, installation, and restoration tasks on telecommunications networks for SAPN, Electranet and external customers.  SA Power Networks and Electranet have a diverse and extensive telecommunications network throughout SA for the management of the electrical distribution business. This network is critical and utilised for the provision of Tele-Protection, SCADA, voice, IP and site environmental control (Battery bank, temperature monitoring etc.) services.  

Day to day you will:  

 

  • Assist in the monitoring, control, and management tasks on telecommunications networks. 
  • Perform restoration tasks under direction of the TNC on both SAPN and Electranet’s Telecommunications networks.  
  • Assist in the planning, quoting and implementation of network upgrades. 
  • Perform live network monitoring utilising multiple complex management platforms in a critical infrastructure environment. 
  • Assist in the commissioning of SAPN and Electranet SDH, PDH and IP telecommunication’s networks. 
  • Perform network infrastructure installations (electronics, hardware, cabling, and pathways), maintenance and construction, including cubicle builds. 
  • Undertake the integration, commissioning, fault finding and repair of telecommunications equipment where required. 

 

This role will be offered initially on a 24mth contract basis.  

Travel within the state and some interstate travel required 


About you 

You will bring a strong commitment to working safely, and the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in standards, systems, and technologies. You are a team player who encourages others to collaborate and find solutions, rather than problems. 

Specific qualifications and experience required include:  

 

  • Experience working on large telecommunication infrastructure projects  
  • Experience with Ceragon and Aviat radio equipment, Nokia routers and switches. 
  • Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology is essential, and Certificate IV would be advantageous.
  • Current Working at Heights and Tower Rescue certifications are a bonus 
  • A current Driver’s Licence
