About the role

Enerven’s exceptional business growth has focussed on looking beyond traditional distribution and transmission network projects, to the exciting world of renewables.  The complex nature of technology, financing, regulatory compliance, risk management, and long-term performance requirements all add layers of complexity to renewable energy construction contracts, creating a need for us to bolster the capability within our Commercial and Contracts team.

As such, we are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist or Senior Contract Administrator to join our Commercial Projects team.  Reporting to the Commercial and Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating and executing upstream and downstream contracts, including scopes of work, technical departures and other contractual documents.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead and manage contract negotiations with customers and suppliers, ensuring commercial terms align with Enerven’s strategic objectives, risk tolerance, and governance frameworks
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks by developing and implementing effective commercial strategies;
  • Provide advice and support to internal business units on legal, contractual and commercial matters;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as bidding, legal, finance, procurement and senior management, to drive commercial outcomes;
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and corporate approval processes;
  • Support the administration of executed contracts, including monitoring ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, resolving disputes, and managing contract amendments.



About you

You are an experienced construction lawyer with strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills. You thrive in a in a fast-paced environment and have developed advanced skills in the prioritisation and management of multiple complex tasks.

Specific qualifications and experience you will bring include:

  • Degree in Law and a current practising certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years post-admission experience in private practice and/or an in-house counsel role
  • Experience in construction and infrastructure contracts (renewables experience is highly desirable)
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and self-reliance
  • Proficiency in contract management processes and the delivery of construction and infrastructure contracts
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining strong client relationships
