About the role

Enerven’s exceptional business growth has focussed on looking beyond traditional distribution and transmission network projects, to the exciting world of renewables. The increasing diversity, size and complexity of projects has created a need for us to bolster the capability within our Commercial team, specifically across all aspects of our contract management services.

As a Contract Administrator you will be an active member of the Commercial team. With the support of the Lead Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for pre and post-award contract administration for our Utilities and Telecommunication portfolio, including providing pro-active and timely commercial and contractual advice to Project Managers and delivery teams.

Day to day you will:

  • Assist Project Managers with the identification, review, drafting, assessment and processing of both customer and subcontractor variations, payment claims, extensions of time and other contractual notices
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of key contracts, as allocated, maintain contract registers, contract files and correspondence
  • Undertake contractual administration of projects to maximise commercial outcomes of contracts including the identification and management of commercial risks
  • Assist with the review and assessment of supplier and subcontractor performance
  • Undertake negotiations with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve head contract, subcontractor and supplier disputes across a range of contractual issues, achieving a positive commercial outcome, interfacing with legal as required
  • Provide commercial support for contract reviews (upstream and downstream) and negotiating commercial departures
  • Liaise with the legal department with contract reviews, letters of notice, or drafting documents
  • Ensure that all contracts meet the legal, commercial and corporate standards and agreed benchmarks
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and statutory requirements.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, including legal, operational, environmental and safety through engagement with key stakeholders
  • Assist with the development, monitoring and effective implementation of commercial and financial risk management procedures, contingency plans and associated contract provisions to maximise revenue and margin and mitigate against losses.



About you

You are an experienced Contract Administrator with strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have developed advanced skills in the prioritisation and management of multiple complex tasks.

Specific qualifications and experience you will bring include:

  • Experience in a commercial environment including contract preparation, negotiation, administration, procurement and management of contractual relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in similar Contract Administration positions
  • An excellent working knowledge of infrastructure contracts and contract administration processes
  • Experience working on Energy Infrastructure Construction projects would be beneficial
  • A background/degree in engineering, business or commercial law would be highly regarded
  • Relationship management skills and the ability to build strong commercial relationships.
