    Senior Commissioning Officer

    Job no: 508220
Work type: Full time (7.5 hrs)
    Location: Marleston North
    Categories: Engineering

Enerven has grown from a local South Australian business into a national leader, with ongoing growth and innovation driving us to expand even further. We provide comprehensive design, construction, and maintenance solutions across power generation, transmission and distribution networks. From renewable energy projects to BESS and substations, we’re actively shaping Australia’s energy future. What sets us apart is our proven ability to deliver some of the nation’s largest and most complex projects reliably and at scale. Safety is our number one priority and the foundation of everything we do.

At Enerven, we’re connecting you with tomorrow.

    About the role

Our Commissioning Department is now a key focus, with investment in resources and capability to strengthen our technical expertise, and while establishing ourselves as a leading HV contractor in the renewables space, we are also offering a long-term career pathway to shape your future professional development

As a Senior Commissioning Officer, you’ll take the lead on a variety of challenging projects, including renewable energy installations, substations, and transmission networks, and be at the forefront of ensuring high-voltage systems operate safely and reliably. You’ll lead and perform pre-energisation testing and verification on new and upgraded equipment, preventing costly failures, minimising downtime, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and protecting personnel and assets. Your work will directly contribute to efficient project delivery, build client trust, and safeguard the business’s reputation, making you a critical part of Enerven’s success.

    Day to day you will:

    • Lead the planning and execution of commissioning activities for E&I systems.
    • Conduct and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and refurbished systems.
    • Drive quality, safety, and compliance with Australian and international standards.
    • Review designs and provide technical input to project and engineering teams.
    • Develop commissioning procedures, test plans, and completion records.
    • Coordinate with SCADA, controls, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration.
    • Support fault finding and issue resolution during commissioning activities.
    • Conduct pre-commissioning tests and commission primary and secondary equipment within substations.
    • Prepare and maintain FAT and SAT documentation for upcoming installations.
    • Produce accurate drawing markups and documentation to capture system changes and support project closeouts at the end of the project lifecycle.

We currently have projects based across both SA and NSW, with a requirement to work away from home. Project rosters can vary based on client expectations, so flexibility is a must. We would also consider FIFO arrangements from different states for the right candidate.
