About the role

Reporting into the Delivery Manager, the Senior Design Manager is accountable for the scope, program and budget of engineering activities for projects across Enerven’s EPC works program. 
 
As a Senior Design Manager, you will have technical, commercial and management accountability for Enerven’s highest risk delivery projects exceeding $100M. Your role will be critical in ensuring the successful engineering delivery of Enerven’s substation, BESS and solar projects.

You will also play a key role in the execution of the Enerven's growth strategy by helping Enerven adapt to new markets and technologies.  You will contribute to and support the process of identifying and securing new projects/contracts through early contractor involvement and your ability to lead with engineering-based solutions.  

Day to day you will: 

• Provide leadership and technical expertise in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of substation, BESS and renewable projects
• Provide co-ordination, oversight, problem solving and interfacing in the delivery of engineering activities on projects
• Own the Client relationship and provide a key client point of contact
• Deliver reporting for engineering activities
• Ensure all engineering deliverables are high quality, on time and within budget
• Assist, review, and analyse complex technical studies, project scopes, technical specifications, and drawings
• Prepare project delivery schedules and proposals to maximise margin and minimise risk
• Provide mentoring, training and direction to the engineering and design teams and ensure the development of others
• Develop templates relevant to design management function

About you

You are an experienced Design Manager with specialised knowledge of project management functions, including schedule, cost, client & commercial management.

You will ideally come from an EPC background, and will bring:

• Specialised knowledge of distribution and transmission systems, and substations
• Cross discipline technical expertise across substation, BESS and/or solar engineering activities, with strength in protection & secondary systems
• Experience in the selection of substation equipment and material
• Working knowledge of protection schemes, power system modelling and relay setting
