About the role

Our Distribution Services team is responsible for maintaining and constructing SA Power Networks and various client distribution assets – both overhead and underground on Low Voltage, 11KV and 33KV lines (poles, wires, transformers, high voltage switches etc.). This includes live low voltage maintenance and construction, high voltage switching and live line tree trimming, as well as project work such as conductor replacement, new line builds, new transformers etc.

Due to the ongoing growth of our Distribution Services team, we have multiple permanent Powerline Team Leader positions available in South Australia.

Day to day you will:

  • Be responsible for works planning, preparation, initiation, delivery and completion 

  • Provide office-based and on-site support to the Field Crew Leaders and teams 

  • Undertake quality and safety observations to confirm crews are constructing and maintaining to required standards 

  • Champion positive culture within teams 

  • Report on progress and job status throughout project lifecycles  

  • Manage materials and subcontracted services 

  • Be a leader when it comes to safety; lead by example, action and promote compliance, and mentor site employees 

 
The standard fortnight is 72hrs, with 1 rostered day off per fortnight. You will be required to work overtime from time to time (all overtime paid at double time) and perform availability duties.

The majority of work is in the Adelaide area, but there will be requirements to work away from home occasionally (travel allowances apply).


About you 

You will bring a strong commitment to working safely, and the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in standards, systems, and technologies. You are a strong and engaging leader who encourages team members to collaborate and find solutions rather than problems.

Essential requirements include:

  • Certificate III in ESI - Distribution and SA Electrical Workers Registration  

  • Experience as a qualified tradesperson 

  • Experience in leadership roles 

  • Planning and project coordination experience 

  • HV/LV switching experience  

  • Current SA driver’s licence – car (heavy vehicle desirable) 


The successful candidate must be able to work overtime as required, perform availability duties, and work away as required, both intra and interstate.?
