About the role
The Substation Construction department are seeking a qualified Construction Manager (Electrical) with Substation or heavy industrial electrical infrastructure construction experience to join their team.
You will be responsible for planning, managing and completing projects in a safe, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner through the diligent management of people, subcontractors and resources. You will actively provide leadership and guidance to construction crews, as well as coordinating day to day operations, managing budgets and planning / scheduling of work.
This role is based at Direk, but our team is often working away from Adelaide on project construction sites. Rosters vary depending on the requirements of different projects, and as Construction Manager you will be to need to be on site as required to manage the project requirements. So some time working away from home should be expected (overtime at double time and travel allowances apply).
Reporting to the Manager Substation Construction, responsibilities of this role include:
- Planning, managing and delivering allocated projects
- Managing WHS, Environmental and Quality systems for the work group and subcontractors
- Providing leadership, communication and supervision to all employees and subcontractors
- Managing key customer and stakeholder relationships to ensure that the agreed services are delivered in a timely manner
- Planning and coordinating the works allocated and managing the overall performance of the work group- including in productivity, financial, employee commitment, customer service and compliance.
About you
You will bring:
- Leadership experience in heavy industrial electrical infrastructure construction projects, including installation of High Voltage equipment and systems
- Specific experience in the construction of substations and/or renewable projects is highly advantageous
- A Current SA Electrical Trade Certificate or Current SA Electrical worker registration
- A Current South Australian Drivers Licence
