About the role
The Estimator reports to the Senior Bid Manager and prepares electrical estimating tender documentation for major external, internal, and strategic projects. The role delivers accurate, timely cost estimates that support both budget planning and construction delivery across Enerven's portfolio. Work spans renewables, substations, transmission and powerlines, and telecommunications/SCADA, covering EPC, construction, maintenance, and fieldwork activities. It is a commercially focused position that combines technical estimating rigour with strong supplier negotiation and internal stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare electrical estimating tender documents and first principle cost estimates for major renewables / HV projects
- Coordinate bids across substations, transmission/powerlines, and telecommunications/SCADA
- Identify alternative solutions that reduce project cost
- Optimise labour, materials, plant, and external services for the lowest compliant cost
- Ensure inputs meet scope and Enerven and Australian Standards
- Negotiate with service providers to secure cost-effective quotes and inputs
- Cost project variations and maintain estimating master data
About you
This role suits an experienced estimator with a strong electrical background and a proven track record preparing and evaluating competitive tenders. You bring specialised knowledge of power system construction, maintenance, and field work methods, paired with the commercial judgement to build accurate, cost-effective submissions. An Advanced Diploma in an engineering or technical field and/or extensive practical construction and estimating experience is essential.
- Strong contract administration and tender evaluation skills
- Advanced negotiation skills across internal and external stakeholders
- Highly developed estimating and financial management capability
- Competence in project management, reporting, and risk management
