About the role
Enerven’s story is an exciting one. But success if not just about completing projects on time and in budget – our commitment to protecting the ecosystems and communities affected by our construction and maintenance projects is at the heart of all we do, and the driving force behind our passionate Environment Team.
As an Environment Advisor you’ll ensure Enerven’s NSW project operations and activities comply with environmental laws and regulations, while partnering with key stakeholders to support and coordinate initiatives that minimise our environmental impact and drive sustainable practices across the business.
Day to day your will:
- Manage and mitigate project environmental risks
- Provide advice on a full range of environmental issues, including development and review of management plans
- Actively manage environmental incidents to minimise environmental harm
- Ensure project compliance with environmental legislation and standards
- Review project tender documents and identify risks, opportunities and potential costs
- Undertake environmental site visits and audits on current projects
- Manage contractors and consultants to meet project demands
You will be based out of our Newcastle office and will support a variety of projects across New South Wales. There will be regular travel opportunities to various project sites, including day trips each week and 1–2 overnight stays per month, aligned with project needs.
This role is a brand-new addition to the Environment Team and is being offered initially on a 2-year Term Contract basis.
About you
You are a passionate Environment Advisor looking to elevate your career with a rapidly growing company. You’re excited by the opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile electrical infrastructure and renewable projects across NSW, and keen to spend time both in the office and on construction project sites.
It is essential you can bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Environment Management, Natural Resource Management, or similar
- Experience in a similar role in construction, mining, or infrastructure/heavy industry
- Exposure to the application of environmental management principles, particularly in NSW
- Knowledge of environmental legislation in NSW
- A current drivers licence
