About the role
Join our Transmission Lines Delivery team as a Trades Assistant and help deliver a range of transmission line construction and maintenance projects across SA and interstate.
Work alongside experienced trade qualified Transmission Powerline Workers and other experienced trades people to ensure a high quality of output and a safe working environment. You will need a high level of safety awareness, ability to take and follow instruction, and work in a team environment.
Duties will include:
- Use of power tools
- Operating small to large equipment
- Loading and driving HR vehicles
- Dogging/ Rigging
- Assisting Trade qualified Electricians and Powerline Workers
A large portion of the annual workload will involve working on project sites across South Australia (and interstate), operating on either an 11:3 or 10:4 roster, depending on the specific project. All overtime is paid at double time, and travel/living away from home allowances are provided.
About you
You bring energy, initiative and a strong work ethic. With a solid background in trades or civil work, you’re confident tackling practical tasks, solving problems quickly, and taking responsibility for your work while supporting the team.
Specific requirements include:
- Previous experience in similar Trades Assistant or Labouring roles
- A current SA drivers’ licence is essential, but HR licence strongly is preferred
- Any of the following High-Risk Work licences will be helpful (but not essential) - Dogging and Rigging, Crane, Forklift, EWP
- A white card and First Aid CPR are desirable
- General computer skills
- Willingness to work away from home on project rosters
