About the role
Our South Australian Delivery team is responsible for delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects that support the reliability, resilience and growth of SA’s energy network.
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our site-based Delivery team. Reporting to the Engineering Delivery Manager you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering assigned project work packages, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of work packages from planning through to practical completion and handover, working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading short and medium-term project planning activities, including look-ahead planning, work sequencing and resource coordination
- Coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities across allocated work packages
- Managing technical interfaces, design coordination, constructability reviews, RFIs and engineering methodologies
- Monitoring project costs, productivity, quantities, variations and commercial performance
- Managing project risks, constraints and opportunities while implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Overseeing quality assurance requirements including inspections, testing, commissioning and project documentation
- Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, contractual and client requirements
- Coordinating testing, commissioning, practical completion and handover activities
- Supporting and mentoring Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers to build capability and project delivery excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of Electrical infrastructure projects right across SA, including Substations, cable systems, HV/MV/LV installations and Renewable energy projects. Rosters will vary depending on project requirements, with a typical roster of 10 days on / 4 days off, 11-hour days, plus overtime and travel allowances. As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be required to be on-site to effectively lead delivery so must be comfortable with working away from home.
This role is being offered as a 24mth Term Contract.
About you
You're a proactive and solutions-focused Electrical Project Engineer who thrives in complex project environments. You bring strong technical capability, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to successfully coordinate multiple work fronts and deliver project outcomes safely and efficiently.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience delivering electrical infrastructure, utility, industrial or construction projects
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, construction practices and engineering processes
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong commercial, planning and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia (or working towards Chartered status).
