About the role
Our Distribution Services team is responsible for maintaining and constructing SA Power Networks distribution assets – both overhead and underground on low voltage, 11kV and 33kV lines (poles, wires, transformers, high voltage switches etc.). This includes live low voltage maintenance and construction, high voltage switching and live line tree trimming, as well as project work such as conductor replacement, new line builds, and new transformers.
Due to the ongoing growth of our Distribution Services team, we have multiple permanent Powerline Crew Leader positions available in South Australia.
Day to day you will:
- Lead the way on safety, calling out unsafe behaviours and demonstrating safe work practices
- Maintain own truck and equipment
- Ensure all completed works are carried out to SA Power Networks standards and E-drawings
- Advise team leaders of work in jeopardy or not completed in a timely manner so intervention may occur
- Ensure all correct compliance documentation is captured, documented and returned to the team leader for each job
- Ensure material bays are completely empty before leaving for the job site
- Monitor and mentor team members and apprentices
- Give feedback to team leaders including what went well and why, and what could be better and how
- Accurate and complete Toughbook recording for job sign off and timesheet entries
The standard fortnight is 72hrs, with 1 rostered day off per fortnight. You will be required to work overtime from time to time (all overtime paid at double time) and perform availability duties.
The majority of work is in the Adelaide area, but there will be requirements to work away from home occasionally (travel / living away from home allowance applies).
About you
A will bring a strong commitment to working safely, and the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in standards, systems, and technologies. You are a strong and engaging leader who encourages team members to collaborate and find solutions.
Essential requirements include:
- Distribution (Powerline) Trade Certificate
- Current SA Electrical Workers Licence for Distribution work (or the ability to apply under mutual recognition)
- HV/LV switching experience (preferred)
- Current drivers’ licence (HR licence would be beneficial)
- Exposure to leadership responsibilities is a bonus
