About the role
We are seeking experienced Transmission Line Design Engineers to join our engineering team, supporting the design of overhead transmission line infrastructure across major HV projects.
This is a design-focused role, working closely with engineering teams and delivery partners to develop practical, buildable and compliant transmission line designs.
You will be responsible for modelling, designing and optimising overhead transmission lines, with direct involvement in key design activities including route selection, structure spotting and line profiling.
What you will be doing
- Undertake overhead transmission line design across 132kV+ infrastructure projects
- Perform PLS-CADD modelling, including line profiling, clearances and optimisation
- Lead or support route selection and alignment development
- Conduct structure spotting and layout design for transmission lines
- Apply sag-tension calculations, loading conditions and clearance assessments
- Coordinate with civil/structural teams on tower and foundation design inputs
- Provide technical input into constructability and design optimisation
- Support design reviews and ensure compliance with AS/NZS 7000 and relevant standards
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
About you
We are seeking engineers with a strong background in overhead transmission line design, who are comfortable working in a design led environment
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in transmission line design (132kV and above)
- Strong working knowledge of PLS-CADD (essential)
- Experience in route selection, structure spotting and line modelling
- Understanding of sag-tension, clearances and loading conditions
- Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 7000) or equivalent
- Ability to contribute to design development and technical decision-making
These roles can be based in Adelaide or Sydney.
