About the role

This full-time permanent role reports to the Head of Project Controls and turns project data into clear, practical information that helps project controls, project management and leaders have enhanced visibility on performance and status trends, and make better decisions across national portfolios of major energy infrastructure projects. It takes ownership of the accuracy of project controls data and alignment of Earned Value Management detailed basis, ensuring integrity and reliability of performance information. The position performs detailed analysis, builds and maintains dashboards and regular reports that show how individual disciplines, projects and portfolios are tracking. The role also oversees the functional administration and enhancement of project controls systems, ensuring they operate effectively and align with the project controls and group requirements.

Day to day you will:

  • Performance and Status Insights & Analytics: design and maintain rigorous dashboards and reports, transforming complex data into high-impact insights that improve and streamline controls operations and support decision-making.
  • Data Integrity & Assurance: act as the custodian of Project Controls data, undertaking checks and analysis to ensure all project controls information meets integrity and reporting requirements.
  • Performance Assessment: maintain alignment and structural integrity of detailed Performance and Earned Value Management information to support accurate performance assessment outcomes, alongside bespoke performance analytics to identify trends and project drivers.
  • Reporting Cycle Enablement: enable the end-to-end project and portfolio reporting process through the preparation of comprehensive reporting packs for periodic review cycles, ensuring consistency across projects and portfolios.
  • Functional System Administration & Process Governance: conduct process reviews and lead the functional administration and configuration of Project Controls systems, ensuring robust system health, governance, and user alignment.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in, or exposure to, project controls or project delivery/management environments.
  • Process-oriented with advanced analytical and reporting capability, including dashboards, reporting packs, and performance analytics to support project and portfolio decision-making.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and equivalent reporting/visualisation platforms, including data transformation and reporting automation capabilities.
  • Experience integrating and analysing data across multiple systems, with an understanding of data governance, reporting frameworks, and portfolio performance structures.
  • Exposure to SQL, enterprise reporting databases, and data querying is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, and project performance drivers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
