About the role
This full time, permanent role reports to the Head of Project Controls and is flexible to be based in either Adelaide or Sydney. It is responsible for delivering Cost Control for Enerven’s most complex projects such as battery energy storage systems (BESS) and Renewables. Working closely with project management and cross-functional teams, the role ensures project cost discipline, accurate forecasting, and achievement of targets through proactive cost control, analysis and performance assessments.
Responsibilities include:
- Establish and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls throughout the project lifecycle
- Enable and drive project cost forecasting processes
- Deliver Cost Variance Analysis, highlighting the root causes for movements in forecasts and cost positions
- Oversee rigorous change and contingency controls
- Monitor trends and variances to support informed project and group decisions
- Provide reporting and cost insights for visibility and corrective actions
- Feed project cost insights and lessons learned back into estimating and project close-out.
- Actively participate in Project Controls’ continuous improvement initiatives and processes
About you
As an experienced Project Controls Cost professional, you will bring the functional expertise, analytical capability and communication skills required to drive effective cost control and project performance. You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project cost control across engineering and construction projects within sectors such as Infrastructure, Energy, Oil and Gas, or similar.
- Sound understanding of project cost control, forecasting, reporting and performance management.
- Strong analytical and data analysis capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and relevant cost control systems and tools.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate cost and performance insights across all levels.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.
