All you need is your Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry (Distribution), or if you’re a New Zealand neighbour, a National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution), Level 4. You’ll hold an SA Electrical Workers Registration for Electrical Distribution Linework or be able to apply for one under mutual recognition.


About the role

You’ll be part of a small close-knit Powerline crew that provides specialist maintenance and restoration of complex Distribution equipment at BHP’s Olympic Dam mine site. You’ll also be a key player in the coordination and delivery of planned work and trades, ensuring high-quality and timely service to our customers.

Day to day you will:

• Maintain and construct distribution assets – both overhead and underground on Low Voltage, 11KV and 33KV lines (poles, wires, TF’s, HV switches etc.)
• Project work – Conductor replacement, new line builds, new TFs etc.
• Live low voltage maintenance and construction
• High voltage switching
